I rarely buy books new.

Subvet, recriminalization would be a good step, but if it's not just one part of an overall strategy to restore things like hope, resiliency, trust in God, etc., it'd doomed to accomplish little more than a reduction. How much of a reduction would depend upon how militant the abortion enthusiasts are.

Nancy Howell Lee found that what drove most women to illegal abortions was the perception that this was simply what one did in that situation. Frederica Matthews-Green found that most women were driven to LEGAL abortions by the feeling that they were facing their problems alone.

So we need to battle both.

Battle #1: The idea that abortion is simply what one does when faced with difficulties -- and we're fighting an uphill battle on that front, with militant proabortionists presenting abortion as the default action for any pregnancy that wasn't planned or isn't progressing satisfactorily.

Battle #2: The sense of facing troubles alone -- another uphill battle, as abortion fanatics fight to shut down pregnancy centers and ensure that women truly are facing their problems alone and that the only visible way out is through their clutches.Christina Duniganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04785550737493692252noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8395646.post-34476665410413035542009-02-16T22:30:00.000-05:002009-02-16T22:30:00.000-05:00"But we're equally over-simplistic when we present..."But we're equally over-simplistic when we present criminalization as a simple, one-size-fits-all solution."

Amen. Without a change in the cultural mindset, abortion becomes a political ping-pong ball to be knocked over the net seperating legality/illegality.

The criminal aspect has become a tail wagging the dog, first and foremost we should be concerned about a moral revival.

Simple, yep. Hardly easy since no one knows where to begin.

God help us all.Subvethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13523683273450353313noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8395646.post-84314506904128581352009-02-16T22:23:00.000-05:002009-02-16T22:23:00.000-05:00Today I went to the library and I read Joseph Dell...Today I went to the library and I read Joseph Dellapenna's Dispelling the Myths of Abortion History. You might enjoy it. He mentions cases of women killed by abortion, even cases in colonial times. You might want to read up.

Just a suggestion.Suzannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15038275826830875246noreply@blogger.com
