Vuitch was an illegal abortionist in Washington, DC. He operated openly, challenging the law. Though the law was upheld, the courts changed the way it was enforced, placing the responsibility on the prosecutor to prove that the abortion was not necessary to save the woman's life.
Though Vuitch managed to run a fairly clean ship when he was a criminal abortionist, after legalization he went on to kill two abortion patients: Wilma Harris and Georgianna English. In a move that shows how birds of a feather flock, Vuitch testified on behalf of Jesse Ketchum, who, like Vuitch, had started out as a criminal abortionist with a fairly clean record, only to kill two abortion patients (Margaret Smith and Carole Schaner) after legalization.
