"Bad abortion stories": Here are all the fatal ones I know about.. This woman lost a kidney. Rosa Naperstek-Taft had a party the night before to celebrate that hers would be the first of the new and improved safe and legal abortions among her circle; she got to spend eight months in the hospital trying to recover. Water Tower Reproductive Center was a pretty seedy abortion mill. Nicholette changed her mind, but the damage was done and she got to watch her baby fight for life for six months in a NICU. Tanisha's abortion was a nightmare from beginning to end. East Tennessee Womens Clinic would have fit nicely into any back-alley scenario. A nurse at Summit Medical Center of Alabama gave a near-term patient RU-486, killing the baby and very nearly killing the mother as well. There are plenty more stories here. And here. And here. And here. And here. And here.
Can air embolism from an air compressor kill you? If you're trying to do a home abortion with it in your garage, yes. Though I imagine it could be fatal under other circumstances as well.
