Ashli's HG story

"When a man steals to satisfy hunger, we may safely conclude that there is something wrong in society - so when a woman destroys the life of her unborn child, it is an evidence that either by education or circumstances she has been greatly wronged."
Mattie Brinkerhoff, The Revolution, 4(9):138-9 September 2, 1869

In Ashli's case, both. Nobody gave her information, and nobody gave her the medical care she needed. And it's a sorry excuse to simply say, "Well, she had a choice." You be so sick that you can't even keep water down, that you've lost 14% of your body weight, that you're hallucinating from your body's chemicals being so out of whack from constant vomiting, then tell me that capitulating to despair and desperation is a freely-made "choice".

It's a shame that Ashli had an unnecessary abortion, but that doesn't make her a murderer who deserves to be thrown in prison for 30 years.

She's lucky her abortion was legal, because it left her free to go on and have two kids with her husband.

  2. Anon, who here is advocating sending Ashli to prison? She's my freaking FRIEND.

Now -- the rat bastards who abandoned her, and the rat bastards who killed her baby when she was crying that she didn't want to but didn't know what else to do? I'd love to see THEM rot in prison for 30 years.

  3. And HER BABY IS DEAD. How is that lucky for her? Had abortion been illegal, odds are the doctors would have been forced to find her some legitimate medical care.

How hearless can you be, that you can tell me with a straigh face that my friend is LUCKY that her baby was killed?
