South Dakota Governor Likely to Sign 72-Hour Abortion Wait: "Governor Dennis Daugaard of South Dakota says he is ... likely to sign into law a bill that requires a 72-hour waiting period before an abortion.... The bill in question would require women considering an abortion to visit a crisis pregnancy center before going to an abortion business to get counseling on abortion’s alternatives as well as the risks associated with having one. The idea behind the bill ... is to get women tangible pregnancy help and support that they won’t normally find at an abortion center." And lest anybody gripe that this is somehow intrusive, remember that the prior pregnancy-help counseling model was pioneered in Scandinavia -- long held by abortion advocates to be ever so progressive and compassionate. Planned Parenthood's Mary Calderone reflected, "Conference members agreed, and this was backed up by evidence from the Scandinavians, that when a woman seeking an abortion is given the chance of talking over her problem with a properly trained and oriented person, she will in the process very often resolve many of her qualms and will spontaneously decide to see the pregnancy through, particularly if she is assured that supportive help will continue to be available to her." So what South Dakota is proposing is that rarest of beasts -- a documented, proven method of reducing abortions.
Standing jet ready to take Baby Joseph to any willing U.S. Hospital: "Priests for Life, the American Center for Law and Justice, the Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network and other pro-life and pro-family organizations have been negotiating with hospitals across the United States for more than a week to have them agree to admit baby Joseph Maraachli. Baby Joseph is the one-year-old in a London Ontario hospital whose doctors are seeking to remove his ventilator against his parents’ wishes." Joseph just needs a tracheotomy, a minor surgery that would ease his breathing problems. This same procedure helped his sister, who had the same disease, live six months longer in the loving care of her family. But sadly, no US hospital so far is willing to step forward for this baby. Consider contacting your local hospital on Monday and asking them to take on this mission of mercy.
More Abortion Mills Coach Minors How To Lie, This Time in Texas: This undercover investigation didn't involve videotaping, as far as I can tell, but they caught Texas abortion facilities, including National Abortion Federation facilities, doing the same things Live Action caught Planned Parenthood doing -- coaching apparent sexual abuse victims on how to evade laws to protect them.
Shut Down and Censored! looks at the glaringly misplaced priorities of self-styled "women's health advocates", who allow Gosnellesque abortion mills to thrive, while focusing all their attention on attempting to censor and shut down places that actually offer women help -- and safety.
Abortion and the soul: "First, some (usually non-religious) people dismiss the pro-life position from public consideration by claiming that it rests on the "religious" view that an unborn human being has a soul. But no one dismisses my opposition to murdering teenagers on the grounds that it rests on a "religious" view that teenagers have souls. Pro-lifers oppose killing the unborn for the very same reason they oppose killing teenagers -- because the victims are human beings, and it is wrong to kill innocent human beings. No appeal is made to souls or religion (although I do not believe that such an approach is automatically illegitimate)."
Immigrant Family Forced to Watch Mother Dehydrated to Death: "On Feb. 19, Ms. Nyirahabiyambere’s feeding tube was removed on the order of her court-appointed guardian. Her six adult children — including two United States citizens — vehemently opposed that decision. But they were helpless to block it when Georgetown University Medical Center, frustrated in its efforts to discharge Ms. Nyirahabiyambere after she had spent eight costly months there without insurance, sought a guardian to make decisions that the family would not make. “Now we are powerless spectators, just watching our mother die,” said Mr. Ndayishimiye, 33, who teaches health information management at the State University of New York’s Institute of Technology in Utica. “In our culture, we would never sentence a person to die from hunger.”"
Frances Kissling slammed as ‘former pro-choice advocate’ for late-term abortion retreat: "Ann Furedi, chief executive of the British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS), the largest abortion provider in the United Kingdom, has “excommunicated” U.S. abortion philosopher Frances Kissling from the abortion movement, calling her a “former pro-choice advocate” because she is not defending a woman’s “right to choose” abortion from conception all the way to birth. It was the national controversy surrounding Kermit Gosnell’s “House of Horrors” late-term abortion practice that led to the clash between the two top abortion leaders. .... But writing in Abortion Review, Furedi accuses Kissling ... of embracing an inconsistent, unprincipled “pro-choice” stance by abandoning the position that late-term abortions are morally equivalent to early embryo abortions. “A principled defence of abortion - as late as necessary,” is the appropriate response to the scandal of the “Philadelphia Baby Butcher,” said Furedi. .... Furedi explained that she did not view any moral difference between early and late-term abortions: “Personally, I believe early and late abortions carry the same moral burden because I believe that all abortions end a potential human life. .... Others, Kissling and Saletan among them, seem to believe that early abortion is okay but late abortion is not because the early embryo is less of a human.” .... "
