“Fawn” obtained the abortion pill regimen of mifepristone and misoprostol at an undesignated facility -- perhaps even by mail. 

The first does -- 200 mg mifepristone -- was given orally. The second dose -- 800 ug misoprostol -- was administered vaginally even though for well over a decade it has been known that administering the drug vaginally can trigger rapid-onset fatal toxic shock syndrome.

She had to have a D&C, likely meaning the abortion was incomplete. Despite surgery and other treatment in an attempt to save her, she developed clostridium infection, septic shock, and disseminated intravascular coagulopathy. She died on June 22, 2025. 

An anonymous healthcare professional reported her death to the FDA with mifepristone and misoprostol listed as the suspect products.
