All the Obama creepiness in one place

Obamessiah Blog presents us with regular doses of Obamessia worship.

Samples:

Ever since Barack Obama was young, Hope has lived inside him. From the beaches of Hawaii to the streets of Chicago, from the jungles of Indonesia to the plains of Kenya, he has held on to Hope. Even as a boy, Barack knew he wasn't quite like anybody else, but through his journeys he found the ability to listen to Hope and become what he was meant to be: a bridge to bring people together.

Since this is aimed at kids I'd give it about a 8.8 on my Creepiness Scale.

Elle associate publisher Samantha Fennell .... recently announced that she was leaving her position to follow Obama and raise funds for his campaign.

Matthew 4:20: At once they left their nets and followed him.

"You'll have to measure time by `Before Obama' and `After Obama,' It's an exciting time to be alive now. ... Everything's going to be affected by this seismic change in the universe." -- Spike Lee

Pass Spike the Kool-Aid. He's ready for it.

And Spike ain't the only one:

"What Barack Obama has accomplished is the single most extraordinary event that has occurred in the 232 years of the nation’s political history. ... The event itself is so extraordinary that another chapter could be added to the Bible to chronicle its significance." -- Jesse Jackson Jr.

Move over, Moroni with your gold tablets! You just wrote "The Book of Mormon". Obama is the new Gospel! Maybe you can take dictation!

Barack Obama is the Platonic philosopher king we’ve been looking for for the past 2,400 years.

Is this a promotion or a demotion from being the Messiah? A promotion:

He won’t just heal our city-states and souls. He won’t just bring the Heavenly Kingdom — dreamt of in both Platonism and Christianity — to earth. He will heal the earth itself.

This makes these guys seem downright prosaic by comparison:

The first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review has a movie-star smile and more than a little mystique. Also, we just like to say his name. We are considering taking it as a mantra.

But fear not! The otherworldly is not far behind:

Barack Obama isn't really one of us. Not in the normal way, anyway....

.... Many spiritually advanced people I know (not coweringly religious, mind you, but deeply spiritual) identify Obama as a Lightworker, that rare kind of attuned being who has the ability to lead us not merely to new foreign policies or health care plans or whatnot, but who can actually help usher in a new way of being on the planet, of relating and connecting and engaging with this bizarre earthly experiment. These kinds of people actually help us evolve. They are philosophers and peacemakers of a very high order, and they speak not just to reason or emotion, but to the soul.

Obama seems to believe it of himself:

"[T]his was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal...."

Oh-KAY!

I can't believe the man whose speeches I watch on YouTube everyday is so close to me. his speeches give an aura of immortality that belies the fact that he's a living breathing human.

Visit for the art work as well. Lenin and Stalin had to PAY people to do their hagiographic portraits. Obama has people doing it as an act of worship. Don't forget to stop at the Manifest Hope Gallery for more icons.

For those of you who just can't get enough, Dish Network offers a new channel, Barack Obama's Plan For America. All Obama. All the time.

Paging William Butler Yeats:

Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
....
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?
