According to the Associated Press:
“[Brigham's] record is the most egregious one I know of in the field,” said Vicki Saporta, president of the National Abortion Federation, an association of abortion providers, which has been warning authorities about Brigham’s practices since the mid-1990s.
First of all, NAF high-mucky-muck Michael Burnhill defended Brigham when the New Jersey medical board tried to yank his license in the 1990s. I've pondered in the past why NAF and PP (who originally recruited Brigham as an abortionist) suddenly declared Brigham dead to them.
One more time, with feeling:
"His record is the most egregious one I know of in the field," said Vicki Saporta, president of the National Abortion Federation ....
That's saying a LOT!
During a National Abortion Federation Risk Management Seminar, one attendee admitted that when he did to a patient what Riley did to hers -- pull bowel into the vagina through a hole in the uterus -- he'd just stuff the bowel back in through the hole, administer extra medications to contract the uterus, watch her a bit more carefully in recovery, and send her home none the wiser. Moderator Michael Burnhill (who defended Brigham) chewed the guy out, he asked for a show of hands for how many did this. SIX raised their hands after Burnhill had chewed the first one out. Brigham at least stuffed his patient into her clothes, carried her to a rental car, and dumped her at an emergency room. Hardly exemplary behavior -- until you compare him to his NAF fellows.
Can he really be worse than these NAF providers?
Now, what do they know of that Steve Brigham has done that's worse than any of these? Or is it that they're hoping that they can focus attention on Steve Brigham so nobody will question what saints they supposedly are? These people whose champion, Michael Burnhill, had defended Brigham and helped him get his license back?
PS: IRONY ALERT!

BALTIMORE (AP) -- In a Sept. 9 story about an abortion doctor, The Associated Press erroneously reported that the Guttmacher Institute said the abortion business can be lucrative. The Guttmacher Institute provided costs for abortions but did not say the business could be lucrative.
No, I don't imagine the AGI said that. It was Brigham, in his job posting for aspiring abortionists:
Lucrative opportunity for Physician with progressive pro-choice women’s centers. No on-call responsibility. Any specialty will be considered. All MDs/ODs welcome (including GPs, FMGs and residents). No experience necessary, we will train. Flexible Schedules to accommodate your needs. Great opportunity for MDs in private practice who wish to supplement their incomes, or for doctors seeking a Full-time lucrative opportunity.
Thanks for this research. I'm linking.
