So much for the idea that nobody is "pro-abortion"

If people like this have their way, the "right" to abort will become a duty to abort.

He flat out says that the mother should not have been allowed "final say" in the matter.

Well, seeing as pro-lifers also want to tell a pregnant woman what to do you've probably got far more in common with this writer than you want to admit. I completely disagree with the article, being pro-choice means supporting a woman if she decides to carry to term (whether you agree with her decision or not) or having an abortion (ditto). Anyone who holds the view that they should have a right to control a woman's reproductive system is guilty of ignoring her basic rights, wheter they advocate forced abortion or forced gestation.

But she got pregnant without any help from us. We're not forcing gestation on her. That's something that happened as a result of human biology and choices she and the man/men in her life made. We're just saying, "Now that you've made a baby, don't kill it." That's a far cry from "Your baby isn't good enough. Kill it."

One is asking a life to be spared. The other is demanding an execution on grounds of personal preference. Which is what abortion is in the first place. It's still somebody deciding that an innocent human being ought to be put to death just because the decider prefers it that way.
