"Leading Democrats are still no closer to choosing a new chairman and abortion continues to be a controversial issue in the race to become the next head of the DNC," says Steve Ertelt
Finally the Democratic party is starting to see that a rabid pro-abortion platform is hurting them. If they wise up, this is bad news for Republicans, who might lose part of the edge a prolife record gives at the polls. It's a good sign for the country overall, though, indicating that rank-and-file Democrats are fed up with the lies about the abortion advocates' real agenda. Yay!

It is great news to see any political party having a debate over abortion and other death matters. The Democrats, in particular, have a lot to gain by doing so.

I was active with Feminists for Life the year the Democrats refused to let Bob Casey speak at the convention. One of our members was a delegate from Minnesota. The entire Minnesota delegation got beaten up at the convention by other Democrats, because they had prolife and pro-Casey signs! So it's big progress to go from where you get beaten up for being prolife to where they're having to try to placate you. It's a sign that prolife Dems are building momentum.
That's interesting, Granny. The danger, as you hinted at, is that truly pro-life politicians may be marginalized by those who are "good enough." However, if the Democrats come back toward a pro-life approach it might have a farther-reaching impact on our country than the red vs. blue idea we have now. Part of our effort has to be keeping the red from turning purple (from a pro-life standpoint -- not an otherwise political one).
