Watch Sarah Palin's speech

My daughter commented, "She's gutting Obama like a freshly-killed moose."

And Piper is too adorable.

And I've got to tack on this gem: Palin Shoots Down A Tired Agenda

Palin presents an authentic picture of women's empowerment, yet owes nothing to the Democrats' feminist agenda. She was named by John McCain to be his running mate solely on her own merit and political skills as governor of Alaska, all things she earned herself.

....

The intensity of focus on this single issue, alongside a goody bag of other government programs, looked fairly tired to many women. Instead of walking the walk by naming a living, breathing female to the ticket, Democrats sent the message that only government programs, especially the right to abortion, are of interest to women.

And I just got new info about how baseless yet another MSM attack on Palin is turning out to be:

"Palin Slashed Funding for Teen Moms", screams the Washington Post.

"What?!" you might say.

The lead paragraph leads you even further down the outrage path:

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the Republican vice-presidential nominee who revealed Monday that her 17-year-old daughter is pregnant, earlier this year used her line-item veto to slash funding for a state program benefiting teen mothers in need of a place to live.

That mean old Sarah Palin! Leaving teenage moms and their hapless babies shivering out in the snow! But if you look at the image, you see the the earmark is not for a state program, but for a private charity called Covenant House:

Covenant House is a mix of programs and shelters for troubled youths, including Passage House, which is a transitional home for teenage mothers.

And, as it turns out -- Sarah Palin did not slash funds for teen mothers. Nor did she slash funds for overall teen programs. Nor did she slash funds for Covenant House. What she did was reduce a massive increase in funds to a more moderate, but still substantial, increase. Are we gonna see a retraction? Yeah -- when that bear in Governor Palin's office gets up and starts dancing.

Maybe in 2012 we'll see a Palin/Thompson ticket:
