Sound familiar?

I've heard:

"Conservatives only oppose abortion because they'd rather wait for those Black babies to grow up so they can execute them."

and

All babies with Down syndrome should be aborted.

and

"Isn't it better for a woman to have an early abortion than for a child to be born into poverty?"

Eugenics have been repackaged, but not rejected.

Abortion in USA is not eugenic.

It would only be eugenic if it were done for the purpose of improving the genetic makeup of future society. That's the definition of the word "eugenic".

No one in USA has abortions for that reason. People have abortions for personal reasons, not in order to improve future society. Therefore abortion in USA is not eugenic.

90% of babies with Down Syndrome are aborted. And Black babies are aborted at TWICE the rate of white babies.

There is a STRONG eugenic component to abortion in the US.

value judgements are made, that aren't true, which is policy, i'm sure. my child and i were assumed to be massively inferior.

a nurse at an abortion clinic, can see how completely desperate i am to keep my child, but tells me that i am weak to keep my child. from her words and manner, it's obvious why she is working at an abortion clinic.

Her mind is set on disdain before i've said two words to her. She sits there for some time while i cannot get the abortion pill anywhere near to my mouth. She urges,and orderes me to take it, as though i'm not conforming to the clinics own questionable moral law, and what she will have done. i have spat out the abortion pill onto the desk, still she works on my fear that the threat being made by the father will be realised if i don't take the pill.

GG, the abortions of Down Syndrome babies is NOT eugenic. No one aborts them in order to improve the genetic makeup of future society. People abort Down Syndrome babies in order to avoid unpleasant personal experiences.

Therefore these abortions, by definition, are not eugenic.

Same with the high abortion rates among blacks. They do not abort their babies in order to improve the genetic makeup of future society. They abort them in order to avoid unpleasant personal experiences. That's not eugenic.

The individual makes choices based upon parameters society surrounds him with. When shotgun weddings were the norm, a man who got a woman pregnant was far more likely to marry her than a man would be nowadays.

Likewise, the eugenecists have worked hard to "normalize" the abortion of those they consider "unfit". It's very effective -- 90% effective in ridding the world of children the eugenicists consider "unfit" because of Down syndrome, and 50% effective in ridding the US of those dark-skinned and thus, in the elitists' eyes, "inferior" babies.

That's a pretty good success rate. All done with social pressure, supplemented by individual coercion. Why resort to an official regime when an informal one is getting the job done?
