Sherri Finkbine was the cute, perky, respectable Romper Room lady who went to Sweden, amid great fanfare, to snuff the fetus that she had injured by taking Thalidomide while she was pregnant. She did probably more than anybody else to "normalize" abortion and make it palatable to the public, and to promote the idea that it's somehow "nice" to treat people with limb deformities, and other folks who don't fit our ideas of "perfection", as if they're disposable. So much for "tolerance" and "diversity".

And, frankly, thinking about Sherri Finkbine and how much we've devalued people whose only crime is being different has demoralized me.
