A Study in Contrasts

A discussion with Lilliput following the post about Steve Brigham's latest shenanigans (in which a patient was eviscerated, stuffed into her clothes, and hauled to the ER in a rental car) was an interesting exercise. It prompted me to google "abortion help". The first web site that comes up when you do that is ... (drum roll) ... American Women's Services! Brigham's business!

Let's explore, shall we?

Here's what the main page, intended for prospective patients, says about Brigham's doctors:

American Women's Services has been caring for women since 1979. We are able to provide the best care available because of the extensive knowledge and experience in women's reproductive health care that our doctors, health care teams and administration bring to their work.

American Women's Services physicians are widely recognized for their distinction in their chosen field, garnering national presence on syndicated programming (newspapers, radio and television programs) distributed throughout the country.

Now let's click on "Employment" and check out the job posting for physicians:

Lucrative opportunity for Physician with progressive pro-choice women’s centers. No on-call responsibility. Any specialty will be considered. All MDs/ODs welcome (including GPs, FMGs and residents). No experience necessary, we will train. Flexible Schedules to accommodate your needs. Great opportunity for MDs in private practice who wish to supplement their incomes, or for doctors seeking a Full-time lucrative opportunity.

No on-call. Full-time or Part-time. Any specialty. FMGs welcome. Residents welcome. Board eligibility not required. General Practitioners welcome. No experience necessary, we will train. Must be willing to learn. Must have an active license to practice medicine. Must be pro-choice and respectful of women.

Let's do a comparison, shall we?

Promise made to patients: "American Women's Services physicians are widely recognized for their distinction in their chosen field"

Who Brigham actually hires: "Any specialty will be considered. All MDs/ODs welcome (including GPs, FMGs and residents). No experience necessary, we will train."

Promise made to patients: "We are able to provide the best care available because of the extensive knowledge and experience in women's reproductive health care that our doctors ... bring to their work.

Who Brigham actually hires: "Lucrative opportunity .... Any specialty will be considered. All MDs/ODs welcome (including GPs, FMGs and residents). No experience necessary, we will train."

Let's look again at how Brigham recruits his doctors:

Lucrative opportunity for Physician with progressive pro-choice women’s centers. No on-call responsibility. Any specialty will be considered. All MDs/ODs welcome (including GPs, FMGs and residents). No experience necessary, we will train. Flexible Schedules to accommodate your needs. Must be willing to learn. Must have an active license to practice medicine. Must be pro-choice and respectful of women.

Translated:

Anybody with a medical license (or who has at least graduated from medical school) who wants to make quick money doing abortions and never having to see, hear from, or think about that patient again as long as you live.

(Note: FMGs are Foreign Medical Graduates. Folks, correct me if I'm wrong, but FMGs and residents aren't fully licensed, and must practice under the supervision of a fully licensed physician, right? So how is Brigham promising highly skilled and respected doctors, then providing just anybody who happened to have graduated from medical school, regardless of whether or not they're fully licensed? Or am I misunderstanding this?)

Interesting this explains the other post I read of yours. The other physicians were a bunch of clowns and this place is looking for them! Wow after reading your other post, I really feel bad for some of these women. But then again their going in there to purposely kill their viable babies, so I don't feel bad either. It choice they want and sleezy docs to do the job, so I guess they want it, they get it.
